The project
Henry O'Donnell set out from Carrickfin, Donegal, in September 2020 on an attempt to circumnavigate Ireland by finswimming. The website became the public digital home for the expedition.
Visitors could follow progress through an online tracker, read expedition updates, learn about sponsors and charities, and support the fundraising effort.
Built for an all-Ireland story
The project was presented in both English and Irish.
I built and managed the website and digital marketing for the project, working alongside the team to publish updates in both English and Irish.
The technology had a practical job: connect people on shore with a journey happening around the entire Irish coastline.
The journey lived online
Contemporary news coverage repeatedly directed the public to finswim2020.com to track Henry's location and follow the expedition. The original site is no longer live, so this page preserves a small part of that work rather than trying to recreate it.
